Introduction to Pavement Management (Las Vegas)

Course Summary:
A successful pavement management process is a dynamic and continuous cycle. A pavement management system helps agencies manage pavement data and use data to evaluate the roadway network’s health, predict conditions, and evaluate treatment options.

- Tell your story with numbers and facts
- Plan work using performance-based decision making
- Display current condition, projected condition, work by year, and other information visually in GIS maps
- Respond to changing budgets with clear indication of the impact over time

Intended Audience:
Pavement engineers, public works personnel/leadership, data collectors, asset managers, maintenance personnel, and anyone who would like to learn more about the pavement management process.

Instructor:
Greg Duncan is a Senior Engineer at APTech with more than 30 years of pavement materials, construction, and roadway maintenance engineering experience. He has served as the principal investigator for the FHWA and state agency projects regarding longitudinal joint repair, developing a culture of performance measures, and using recycled asphalt pavement in pavement preservation treatment applications. In addition, he is a certified National Highway Institute (NHI) instructor where he teaches NHI 134063 Maintenance Leadership Academy; NHI 131139 Constructing and Inspecting Asphalt Paving Projects; NHI 131145 Asphalt Pavement Preservation: Project Design, Construction, and Inspection; and NHI 131149 Asphalt Pavement Evaluation and Rehabilitation.
He is a former Assistant Chief Engineer for Operations for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), where he led the operational side of the Engineering Bureau organization coordinating the efforts of the TDOT Regions and the Construction, Maintenance, Traffic Operations, and Materials and Tests Divisions. He held other leadership positions in TDOT during his 22-year career including Director of Maintenance, Director of Region 4, and the State Bituminous Engineer.
Greg resides in Spokane, Washington where he enjoys traveling, skiing, and explaining “sourthernisms” in the Great Pacific Northwest.

Payment:
To facilitate this course, a minimum of 10 persons must be registered. Do not pay until instructed to do so. You will receive instructions on how to make payment if the course will take place.
Cancellations must be made no less than one week prior to training to receive a 50% refund. Substitutions are accepted but request must be made at least 48 hours prior to session. Individuals who do not attend forfeit their registration fee.
