Description:
This training provides foundational guidance to help agencies select the right projects and treatments for preventive maintenance, reducing failure risk and improving investment outcomes.
What to Expect:
- Distinguish preventive maintenance from other pavement maintenance and rehabilitation activities.
- Explain the importance of treatment timing and other construction considerations for preventive maintenance.
- Identify a good pavement candidate for preventive maintenance.
Who should participate:
This session is appropriate for transportation agency personnel, pavement engineers, contractors, asset managers, consulting engineers, inspectors, and decision-makers involved in the planning, execution, and oversight of roadway maintenance and preservation.
Instructor:
Greg Duncan is a Senior Engineer at Applied Pavement Technology, Inc., with more than 30 years of pavement materials, construction, and roadway maintenance engineering experience. He is a certified National Highway Institute (NHI) instructor and regularly teaches NHI’s “Maintenance Leadership Academy” and “Constructing and Inspecting Asphalt Paving Projects” courses. Greg regularly works on national and state projects dealing with preventive maintenance treatments.
