Airborne Pathogens & Roadside Hazards- historical

Road Scholar elective:

Roadside work and activities expose workers to hazards not experienced in the “standard” workplace, such as traffic hazards, biological hazards, airborne pathogens, toxic waste, drug paraphernalia, potential for violence, and crime scenes.  Attendees will learn how to recognize these hazards and what precautions and actions to take when encountering them on the roadside.

Who Should Attend:

  • Maintenance Supervisors and Engineers
  • Members of maintenance and construction crews
  • Anyone responsible for managing volunteer and non-volunteer roadside litter control activities

As the Manager of the TMCC Safety Center, he provides customized training and services to industry and government agencies. To date, the Safety Center has trained over 50,000 employees nation-wide.

Hours:

Full-day: 8:00am to 4:00pm

Cost: $60.00

Instructor

Scott Alquist has 32 years of experience as a safety professional with a background in employee safety and hazardous materials. He is an OSHA-authorized and EPA-accredited instructor and also a National Highway Institute instructor. Scott is a technician level hazardous materials first responder and trainer with knowledge and training in bio-hazards and clandestine drug labs.
