Road Scholar elective:
For most pavement owners, asphalt pavements are the primary type of road surface in their system. This course is intended to complement the NV LTAP Roads Scholar program with information on asphalt as a binder. This course will include a discussion of how asphalt is manufactured; the family of asphalt products available; testing of asphalt products; the use of additives and modifiers in asphalt products; and handling and storage of asphalt products.
