Confined Spaces (Reno)

This course is scheduled for March 19, 2024 (8 am–4 pm PT). The cost is $40.

This hands-on course is designed to teach participants what a confined space is, how it differs in construction from other industries, potential hazards and how to eliminate them, ventilation and rescue practices and procedures, and employer/employee rights and responsibilities.

For anyone working with road construction in areas where confined spaces are possible, this class is a must. Participants learn how to:

  • Identify hazards
  • Obtain & properly use permits
  • Protect and rescue
  • Know & support employer/employee rights & responsibilities

Instructor

Scott Alquist is a 36-year safety professional specializing in construction safety, general industry safety and hazardous materials. Scott has completed the National Highway Institute “Train the Trainer” program and is an Occupational Safety and Health Administration authorized instructor. Currently, he is the Program Manager for Truckee Meadows Community College’s Safety Center.
