Confined Space Entry – Entrant, Attendant, and Entry Supervisor (Winnemucca)

Course Summary:

This classroom course is designed to teach participants what a confined space is, how it differs in construction from other industries, potential hazards and how to eliminate them, ventilation and rescue practices and procedures, and employer/employee rights and responsibilities.

Learning Objectives:

For anyone working with road construction in areas where confined spaces are possible, this class is a must. Participants learn how to:

  • Identify hazards
  • Obtain & properly use permits
  • Protect and rescue
  • Know & support employer/employee rights & responsibilities

Intended Audience:

Anyone involved with in working with spaces that are or could be confining.

Prerequisites:

None.

Instructor:

Eric Millette retired after 33 years in the fire service. Throughout his career in fire operations, he has promoted through the ranks, worked as full-time training officer, firefighter inspector, ran the Regional Hazardous Materials Response Team in Washoe County, served as chairperson and participated for 12 years on Washoe County LEPC, Local Emergency Planning Committee, was a member of the Water Entry Team, sat on the regional fire EMS board, and experienced many large-scale responses across the country.   He has responded to international disasters to assist in the reconstruction of their emergency response systems.  He has been a part-time instructor at TMCC for over 25 years and has actively taught Fire, EMS, and civilian safety programs. 

Eric currently gives of his time to help run the Nevada Peer Support Network, is the Emergency Manager for the Reno Rodeo, is a donation advocate for Nevada Donor Network, and is on Washoe County Sherrif’s Search and Rescue.

Eric has had many opportunities to be a key note speaker for Haz Mat response, Donate Life, and Peer Support for police fire and military responders.

Payment:

The non-refundable registration fee is $50 per person and is payable by check or credit card. Payment must be received prior to the first day of class.

Cancellations must be made no less than one week prior to the training date to receive a 50% refund. Substitutions are accepted but requests must be made at least 48 hours prior to the session. Individuals who do not attend forfeit their registration fee.
