Laborers’ Local 169 sponsors this 4-hour certification course, which has been approved by the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) and covers procedures for flaggers working on NDOT projects. All flaggers on state projects must have a certification of training in their possession while working. Topics include:
- Work zone hazards and safety;
- State regulations;
- Flagging personal protective equipment (PPE);
- Flagging procedures.
Flagger Training is an elective of the Road Scholar program.
Registration
Registrants must be employed by a government-agency or unionized company.
The fee is $85.
Flagger training is offered through the Laborer’s Training Trust. To enroll in a Northern Nevada session, a registration form and an Acknowledged Rules of Conduct form must be signed by each employee.
